Pi Day - Free Show! w/ Girls on Toast, Ammonite, Endlings, and JJX

The Pie Shop and roXplosion bring you Pi Day, a celebration of pi, and a celebration of pie. Free show! Come out and try pies both savory and sweet, then head upstairs for some savory and sweet music featuring:

Girls on Toast describe themselves as "a punk band from DC". Influences? All women. They are a gritty power trio that are not afraid to admit being a little silly sometimes. Live sampling: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DFqsaO5vHGH/

Ammonite can best be described with terms like "fuzzed out guitar tones" and "grungy riffs," but also "pristine three part harmony". Power trio means power, and they're adding some jangle and twang to the urgent intensity of ’90s rock, in the vein of Sleater-Kinney, Veruca Salt, and The Breeders. Endlings is the perfect band if you seek quasi-psychedelic indie for the end of days. Described by the Washington City Paper as "a rock base that incorporates elements of grunge and metal while ranging from noisy to gentle." Live sampling: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C54xS2WtGe0

JJX... rocks. They just might be your favorite alt rock resurrection. The Philadelphia City Paper remarked, "If Cream had speed metal leanings or if Rush had hooks and rhythm — that's the JJX sound". Watch their NPR Tiny Desk submission: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvsWCbEz8lg
