The Tragic Schoolbus was formed in February 2018 in Alexandria, Virginia and has since evolved into a 5-piece jam band that traces our roots and influences to psych-rock, ’60s jams, Grateful Dead, Spanish rock, and our own groovy originals. We love getting people to dance and always aim to create an inviting, exploratory, and collaborative space for the venues we play and their amazing audiences who come to support us. We’d love to meet you at one of our shows, come groove with us!

The band:
Tim Harmon is a founding member and plays rhythm guitar and vocals for the band. Born in Northern Virginia. Heavily influenced by The Grateful Dead, Bob Weir, John Williams, and Phish. Tim is a silly goose. Matthew Rodriguez is a founding member as well as lead guitarist and vocalist. He grew up in Madrid where he learned to appreciate music from different cultures. Some of his most notable influences are Paco de Lucia, Pink Floyd, Jerry Garcia, and Nick Waterhouse. Joe Beddoes is a founding member, vocalist, and drummer for The Tragic Schoolbus. Born in California and raised in Northern Virginia, his influences include Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters, and the Grateful Dead. Andy Rodgers is the bass player. Originally from Virginia, his influences include Phish, Neil Young, Frank Zappa, King Gizzard, and The Wiggles. Andy joined the band in July 2019. Landon Alexander is from Richmond, Virginia and plays piano and keyboards. His influences are Keith Godchaux, Paige McConnell, and Peter Green (even though he plays guitar). Landon joined the band in November 2019.

FFME

Scott Fallon and Gregg Park make up the interactive musical adventure known as The Free Flowing Musical Experience, Alexandria’s Legendary Acoustic Jam Band. The Relix Magazine Jam Off award winners aim to capture the diversity of their influences and expand upon each song as an improvisational journey into what can be found on the other end. Rock, folk, country, blues, jazz, and original material is what makes up the Free Flowing Musical Experience catalog. The set list is typically determined by the audience and the vibe and energy in the room. With an ever expanding song list and fan base, The Free Flowing Musical Experience continues to be one of the area’s most consistent draws.
