As part of the 2020 DC Francophonie Cultural Festival, the Embassy of Switzerland will present a concert by Swiss duo Baron.e (said: BaronBarone). Baron.e is comprised of Faustine Pochon and Arnaud Rolle, both from the town of Fribourg in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. Influenced by all forms of rock, as well as contemporary French music, these two friends quickly created a musical and textual universe representative of themselves and their generation. Baron.e’s Francophone
electro- and indie-pop evokes a “festive melancholy”. Following the success of their singles, Baron.e will release their first full-length album on March 13, 2020.
The Embassy of Switzerland is proud participate in the D.C. Francophonie Cultural Festival, which provides an opportunity to celebrate the French language and French-speaking communities in Switzerland. French is the second most widely spoken of Switzerland’s four national languages: nearly a quarter of the Swiss population is made up of native French speakers. In the spirit of introducing American audiences to new aspects of Swiss culture and building relationships between the two countries, the Embassy is delighted to welcome this musical pair for their first concert series outside of Switzerland!
