Schaffer the Darklord (or STD) is a New York City-based rapper, drummer and
comedian with material best-suited for nerdy and/or hedonistic audiences. With manic
energy fueling a cartoonishly commanding stage presence, STD skewers such topics
as substance abuse, sexual compulsion, urban anxiety and obsessive cat-enthusiasm.
Imagine a Frankenstein-esque monster assembled from equal parts Bill Hicks, Adam
Yauch, Joey Ramone and Prince, stitched together inside the shell of a maniacal heavy
metal ex-patriot. STD has released nine albums and is a founding member of the
touring nerdcore hip-hop collective known as the Four-Eyed Horsemen, along with MC
Lars, Mega Ran and MC Frontalot. When he’s not on the road, he produces the NYC
burlesque/wrestling hybrid event called “TasselMania.” STD continues to write, record
and perform with great frequency and has no intention of stopping until his rock and
roll lifestyle destroys him.

Prowess’ artistic and diplomatic roots cultivated her natural gift as a performer sharing the stage with legends like The Wu- Tang Clan, Jay Electronica, Citizen Cope, Cody ChesnuTT, Pharoahe Monch, and more in the indie hip hop scene. Following the path of the greats, Prowess was gifted her moniker by the legendary KRS-One, following a standout performance during one of the elder statesman’s ‘Hip Hop Appreciation Week’ events.

She has been featured on albums with MF DOOM & Aloe Blacc. Prowess is a fundraiser and partnership curator creating diverse, inclusive, and equitable pathways to STEM. She spent time in sub-Saharan Africa integrating music and storytelling with patient care via a research grant funded by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Rockefeller Foundation. Musically, Prowess has been forging a path all her own while creating artistic works that reflect her unique vibe-an unsuspecting and compassionate demeanor that produces a raw yet melodic sound.
